Every year we at Framery choose a cause to support that has a distinct, philanthropic purpose. This year we donated a Framery Q pod in Piglet Pink to the local hospital in Tampere, Finland. We chose the Piglet Pink color in support of breast cancer patients – pink being an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. The pod was delivered to Tampere University Hospital in January 2021.
We had the pleasure to talk with Leena Tiainen, Deputy Chief Physician at Tampere University Hospital’s Oncology Outpatient Clinic, and hear her thoughts about the donation from Framery.
The pink Framery Q found its home right next to the entrance hall of the Oncology Outpatient Clinic. There it can be easily seen and accessed. The pod is first and foremost meant for clinic patients for situations requiring privacy and peace and quiet, but the staff and visitors are more than welcome to use the space too.
Tiainen has personally used and seen our Framery Q pod in a few other places before and knows that the stylish and soundproof space effectively suits circumstances where privacy is much needed. “The biggest benefit of the pod is privacy, which our other spaces cannot offer. Our patients have to encounter heavy situations and they usually want to share them with family and loved ones. The Framery Q pod offers a calm space for these kinds of private conversations and e.g. confidential phone calls,” says Tiainen, “and because the pod fits more than one person inside at a time it can also be used for small-scale private meetings and patient guidance,” she adds.
All standard tabletop laminates used in Framery pods are antimicrobial, but we also offer some additional special health and safety features, such as a copper-plated door handle and antimicrobial fabrics. “Our patients are sensitive to infections, so we appreciate the fact that Framery has also taken this into account in their design,” Tiainen says.
“The co-operation with Framery on this project has been very smooth. We’d like to thank Framery for this valuable donation,” Tiainen finishes.
Framery pods can also be found at the Tampere Children’s Hospital. You can read the case here!
