Framery One office pod has been named a winner in this year’s GREEN GOOD DESIGN Awards and acknowledged as an outstanding product that is inspiring greater progress toward a more healthier and sustainable universe.
“We are honored to be recognized by The Chicago Athenaeum’s GREEN GOOD DESIGN Awards,” says Founder and CEO of Framery, Samu Hällfors. “Our goal for Framery One is to have a large beneficial
impact on the day-to-day lives of employees while leaving a small environmental footprint.”
A subprogram of the GOOD DESIGN Awards, which was founded in Chicago in 1950 by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the GREEN GOOD DESIGN’s goal is to bestow international recognition to outstanding individuals, companies, organizations, governments, and institutions who create products, services, programs, ideas, and concepts that have forwarded exceptional thinking and inspired greater progress toward a healthier and sustainable universe. GREEN GOOD DESIGN aspires to impact consumer habits, restructure manufacturing output, influence the design of cities and public spaces, and raise a consciousness about our limited global resources and the disappearance of clean air, clean earth,
and clean water.
“Our goal for Framery One is to have a large beneficial

Framery One is the industry’s first acoustic pod to receive a GREENGUARD Gold certification. This means that Framery One has been tested and scientifically proven to have very low levels of chemical emissions. All of the materials that are used to manufacture Framery One are safe, sustainable, and high quality. It is constructed from steel and wood, and a total of 95% of the materials used in this highly durable pod can be recycled. Steel also ensures that the structure is fireproof. The wooden components are made from FSC certified wood, seat fabrics have EU Ecolabel certification, and the sound insulation material is made from recycled PET plastic.
Circularity is at the foundation of Framery One’s design––the design team worked toward a product design that is as robust as possible so that it can have multiple life cycles. In theory, it can be used almost indefinitely from one customer to another (spare parts are available and easy to change). Due to its efficient design, Framery One has a small footprint in the office but feels spacious to the user. Given that offices are constantly changing and can be challenging to reorganize spatially, the pod is also equipped with wheels, allowing users to move the furniture within the office as needed over time. Framery One is easy to update and maintain given its intuitive assembly (in turn making it easy to disassemble in cases where the pod is being moved to a new location.)
