Creating calm spaces for local students with special needs

At Framery, we believe great environments can change lives – whether in the workplace, at home, or in the classroom. That’s why we’re proud to support our community by donating acoustic pods to organizations doing important work in our local area.

Framery has long admired the important work being done at Puistokoulu, a Tampere-based school dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs. Our decision to donate a Framery Four was a natural extension of our shared values – creating calm, functional spaces that support both students and teachers alike.

Empowering neurodiverse learners in the Tampere community

Located in Tampere, Puistokoulu is a specialized school that supports students with neurodevelopmental and emotional needs through personalized education and care.

Rooted in well-being, structure, and trust, the school offers small class sizes, clear routines, and tailored support from teachers, families, and therapists. The school’s calming environment is designed with low-stimulation settings and quiet spaces – which helps students regulate, focus, and build essential life skills like communication and confidence.

As a local organization making a real impact, it was a natural choice to donate a customized soundproof office pod to Puistokoulu, offering an extra layer of support for their students – and the educators who empower them.

Soundproof support for special needs

Framery pods are private, enclosed spaces that foster emotional regulation and autonomy – making them especially helpful for sensory sensitivities or anxiety. Quiet environments reduce physiological stress and promote healthier long-term performance by protecting cognitive and emotional resources.

When considering which pod would be most valuable for Puistokoulu’s specific needs, Framery Four was the obvious choice. The spacious 4-person soundproof pod creates a versatile and distraction-free environment that supports both focused individual work and small group sessions.

And with a design that blends seamlessly into Puistokoulu’s serene learning environment, this pod was custom-configured to support a neurodiverse group of learners:

  • Advanced soundproofing that stops speech transference and reduces overstimulation
  • An optimized interior acoustic atmosphere that helps students maintain focus
  • A spacious interior and face-to-face layout that supports a wide variety of uses
  • A soothing color palette that helps create a sense of calm
  • A compact design that fits into the school’s narrow hallways without disrupting the layout

The calming, functional environment of Framery Four supports focus, connection, and daily learning that also provides respite for both students and teachers.

A major impact in the classroom

Since arriving at Puistokoulu in March 2025, the pod has become a valued part of daily life at Puistokoulu. Students use the space for quiet reading, individual focus tasks, or calming down when things feel overwhelming. Teachers use it for one-on-one work, check-ins, or as a peaceful space for small group learning.

Early feedback has been incredibly positive:

  • Teachers appreciate the extra flexibility and how the pod enables them to tailor learning experiences for different students.
  • Students enjoy the calm atmosphere and sense of privacy the pod provides—some even seek it out as a place to feel safe and centered.

Framery Four’s soundproofing and minimalist design have proven to be a natural fit for the school’s needs, giving both students and staff a reliable retreat for focus and well-being. Read more about how study pods can support learning and collaboration.

Inclusive support that lasts a lifetime

At Framery, we know that neuroinclusion isn’t just a workplace priority – it’s a societal one. According to a 2024 Leesman study, 63% of neurodivergent employees say their needs are rarely met in open-plan office environments. That’s a clear signal that we still have work to do in making modern spaces truly inclusive.

By introducing supportive, low-stimulation environments early in life, we can help neurodivergent students develop the confidence, focus, and autonomy that they can carry with them as they enter the workforce. And when that time comes, the same thoughtful design principles should be waiting for them, ensuring that inclusion isn’t just a moment in their education, but a standard throughout their lives.

Reinforcing our commitment to community and inclusion

Framery’s work with Puistokoulu is part of an ongoing effort to support communities through thoughtful design, inclusive solutions, and meaningful donations. By creating supportive spaces for today’s neurodivergent students, we are pioneering a future where those same individuals can enter an inclusive workforce where they will continue to be supported throughout their careers.

Whether in schools or offices, Framery pods make it easier for every mind to succeed on their own terms. As the need for personalized learning and working environments continues to grow, Framery remains dedicated to making spaces work better for everyone.
